Charity Times Awards 2012, Winner!

We are delighted to announce that BESBWA & MARS chocolate UK were successful winners in the 2012 Charity Times Awards in the prestigious Corporate Community Local Involvement category.

The glittering event which was held at London’s impressive Lancaster London Hotel was hosted by actor and comedian Miles Jupp and was packed with over 650 attendees representing UK Charities.   BESBWA & MARS topped the Corporate Community Local Involvement Award category beating four other UK charities including Muscular Dystrophy, Macintyre, People to Places and Wallace and Gromits grand appeal. 

The key objectives of the successful partnership for MARS included making a positive contribution to the local community and to supporting people who are less fortunate, as well as motivating employees through fundraising and volunteering opportunities. The partnership also supported BESBWA to raise awareness of Domestic Abuse to a new audience across the community.

Social Work Team of the Year

We are delighted to announce that we were finalists in the prestigious Social Worker Awards.  This is the first year that we were entered into these awards and out of the hundreds of nominees we were one of only two charities to be shortlisted.  The awards ceremony took place at the House of Lords in December 2011.

Charity Times Awards 2011

We were shortlisted in the 2011  Charity Times Awards in the prestigious Charity of the Year category.  The evening was a wonderful celebration of excellence in the voluntary sector and we were delighted to be a part of the celebrations.

Institute of Fundraising National Award

We are celebrating winning the National Institute of Fundraising Awards which took place on Monday 4th July 2011.  We won the award for the best small charity business partnership for our partnership with SEGRO.  For more information about the award please visit the national awards website.

National Charity Awards 2011

We are delighted to announce that we were ‘highly commended’ at the National Charity Awards 2011.  The event was attended by over 1000 people including; charities, celebrities and MPs.

Berkshire East & South Bucks Women’s Aid was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – the MBE for the voluntary sector – for its work with medium to high-risk victims of domestic abuse.

The Slough Quality Protects programme has been developed by the Slough Children and Young People’s Voluntary Sector Forum to help organisations to demonstrate the standard and quality of their work in a coherent and consistent way.  We have achieved platinum standard and are delighted to have maintained that into 2013.

This certification confirms that Berkshire East & South Bucks Women’s Aid’s IDVA service was visited by assessors from CAADA and was found by the Accreditation Panel on 23rd January 2009 to meet the standard of good and safe practice outlined in CAADA’s Leading Lights Key Criteria.

Continued good practice will keep this certificate valid until 23rd January 2012.
